Cecilia Mignon

Cecilia Mignon (b. 1991 Portland, OR) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Oakland, CA whose artwork explores and poses questions about temporality, fragility and the impossibly mutable poetic material we are made of. The range of their practice covers many techniques in printmaking, drawing and alternative process, but centers on their lifelong relationship with photography.

Mignon received their BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2014 with the Thesis Award in Printmaking. There they developed a combined practice in printmaking and alternative process photography under the mentorship of master printer Matthew Letzelter of Derriere L’Etoile (New York, NY) and Jim Reid of Gemini GEL (Los Angeles, CA). Following their undergraduate degree, they worked in printmaking ink production and development of lithographic, etching and relief inks. Mignon exhibits nationally and recently has shown work with Re.riddle gallery (San Francisco, CA), Slip Gallery (Seattle, WA) and a traveling show for SF Design Week / LA Design Weekend showing with Pallas (San Francisco) and Fig & Oak (Los Angeles) curated by architect and designer Anand Sheth.
